After nearly two years of waiting, Megan Thee Stallion's sophomore album has finally arrived! The Texas rapper dropped her new album, titled \"Traumazine,\" on Aug. 12, just three days after she teased its release with a trailer. \"It took a lot of self reflecting to get to the point in my life where I am right now...\" Megan wrote in an Instagram post. \"I ain't saying I finally figured everything out or that I'm finally at peace, bc I'm not... buttt im excited for the hotties to get a better understanding of what's happening in my head.\" \nOn Aug. 11, Megan announced the album's track list \u2014 which includes features from Future, Jhen\u00e9 Aiko, Lucky Daye, Latto, Rico Nasty, Pooh Shiesty, Key Glock, and Dua Lipa \u2014 as well as its release date. \"LETS JUST GO !!! #TRAUMAZINE OUT FRIDAY,\" she tweeted. In another tweet, Megan wrote: \"From my cover art, pieces of my track list and me even hearing a part of a song I haven't dropped yet leaking (and we ALL know who the only ppl who had access to all these PRIVATE links are..) I might as well . . . lol.\"\nMegan's surprise announcement comes after she tweeted about having issues with her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. \"Y'all know I always have problems with dropping my music under this label, all these games and having to go to court just to put out my art has been so stressful,\" she wrote in an Aug. 10 tweet. \"Thank you hotties for rocking with me through the bullsh*t WE ALMOST OUT \ud83d\udc4f\ud83c\udffe LETS STAY FOCUSED AND RUN THIS LAST ONE UP.\"\nMegan previously announced that her second studio album was on the way in an Apple Music 1 interview on Oct. 28, 2021. The following day, the rapper released \"Something For Thee Hotties: From Thee Archives,\" a special gift to her fans to hold them over until her follow-up to 2020's \"Good News\" arrived. \"I've been sitting on these songs, so now I'm like, 'OK, the hotties deserve this. They should have it,'\" Megan said of her project. \"And y'all should be prepared for next year.\"\nDuring the interview, the rapper also discussed the pressures of holding her audience's attention on social media in between projects and comparing herself to other artists. \"I got to block out everything else, and I just want to rap. Sometimes it gets hard, though, because you look at social media and you're like, 'OK, this must be what's hot,'\" Megan said. \"I feel like a lot of artists, we look at other artists and be like, 'Oh my gosh, this has to be like this because they the sh*t so I got to be that b*tch, too.'
